Ashvin Lad

Vice President & CoFounder, Breakwater Chicago LLC

 

Ashvin Lad brings to Breakwater Chicago both private and public sector experience in product development, marketing, product development, business development and client relations roles.  Prior to Breakwater, he worked in the Office of the Illinois State Treasurer overseeing two divisions related to economic and community development programs involving agriculture, businesses and a venture capital fund; as well as managing merchant processing and a $6 billion pooled investment money market for public entities.  

 

Ashvin began his career in the medical device industry at Cook Medical where he was awarded one patent. He followed that with several years in the financial services industry at an established leader, Discover Financial Services, and a growth stage start up, FSV Payment Systems.  

 

He earned a BS in Chemical Engineering and a MS in Biomedical Engineering from Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology and a MBA from Indiana University’s Kelley School of Business.

Hobbies – Traveling the world (36 countries visited at last count), attending sporting events, cycling along the lakefront, and trying new variations of eggs benedict.
